ECOLISE is the European coalition of organisations supporting local community initiatives, including GEN. The members of ECOLISE include international, national and sometimes regional networks of community-based initiatives, as well as other bodies engaged in European-level research, training, communications or other activities to support community-based action on climate change and sustainability.
Educación Gaia, Educación para la Sostenibilidad, DEDS
Educación Gaia promueve un enfoque holístico de la educación para el desarrollo sostenible. Desarrolla programas de estudios para el diseño de comunidades sostenibles basados en buenas prácticas de ecoaldeas de todo el mundo. Trabaja en colaboración con comunidades urbanas y rurales, universidades, ecoaldeas, agencias gubernamentales y no gubernamentales y Naciones Unidas.
Gaia Trust, Denmark is a charitable entity supporting sustainabilty projects around the world. It was founded in 1987 on the initiative of Ross and Hildur Jackson, with the intention of supporting the transition to a sustainable and more spiritual future society through grants and proactive initiatives.
Two NGOs especially have been supported for many years and continue to be supported, namely the Global Ecovillage Network and Gaia Education. Many other smaller projects in the areas of local sustainability initiatives, permaculture, etc. occasionally receive supporting grants.
The Sustainable Innovation for Resilient Communities (SIRCle) project uses adult education to address one of the most pressing needs of our time, namely how to marry effective grassroots responses to climate and social change with the capacity to make a sustainable living in a challenging economic climate.
