Gaia Ashram is a community based education center on Deep Ecology, Permaculture and Ecovillage Design Education and other sustainable living practices.
Gaia Ashram is the base for Gaia School Asia and one of the operational centers of NextGEN Oceania & Asia and we provide trainings/workshops/courses for children, international and Asian youth. Gaia Ashram also provides long-term volunteer and internship opportunities for Asian and international youth.

Trika Eco Resort is the international headquarters of Trika Method, located in the rural mountains of Northern Thailand. Trika Eco Resort is a yoga retreat center, permaculture farm, and intentional community of dharma practitioners who dedicate their lives to the dharma through Trika Method’s many spiritual and humanitarian initiatives. We invite visitors to experience our unique way of life as guests, volunteers, or retreat participants, and we always welcome new residents.
Maia Earth Village is an intuitive healing and spiritual community that has interests in raw food, permaculture and what is called innerdance process. The Village was founded initially by Pi Villaraza and members of the innerdance communities around the world and is now independently run by like-minded residents that act as caretakers of this sacred 7-hectare land. The community hosts the emergence convergence gatherings, which is a collaboration of various networks, primarily the Global Ecovillage Network Oceania and Asia.

We are a group of people working and living together for social change as an alternative community and NGO. We have wide range of work; education for grassroots, nature cure, organic gardening, mud house building and ecovillage education. This year we have decided to publish a “Directory of intentional communities and ecovillages in Asia.” We hope to strengthen the existing communities and also help to found new ones, building up a network of communities and ecovillages in Asia.
Pun Pun is an organic farm, seed-saving operation, and sustainable living and learning center. We feel that only by living in a sustainable way ourselves, is it possible for us to create a model from which others can learn and live. Through natural cultivation on our organic farm we display ways of transitioning to, and living more sustainably. Through the living and learning center we experiment with appropriate technologies, organic farming, and natural building techniques. We discover the practices that work well for people and are practical.
Moo Baan Dek is a living alternative education and a community. Its environment is arranged to help poor children from even the most difficult backgrounds to learn to love themselves and society. The children learn from nature and their immediate environment. They grow up in a warm and loving atmosphere in which they find understanding and freedom plentiful. Their learning can take place at any corner of this natural school, 70% of which is covered with cultivable land and forest, and is not confined to small classrooms. The school's underlying philosophy is very close to that of A.S.
The Beluga School for Life, is a learning village-community with about 240 inhabitants in the south of Thailand, in the province of Phang-Nga. Within the framework of the Thai Law, it provides shelter and education to 150 Thai children at risk, such as victims of the tsunami from 26th of December 2004, children with poor family backgrounds or abused children. The Beluga School for Life concept empowers these children to become successful socio- and eco- entrepreneurs in the future.
Wongsanit Ashram was founded in 1984 by social activist Sulak Sivaraksa and colleagues. It is a spiritual activist community devoted to developing and promoting an alternative lifestyle that is grounded in Buddhist Dharma, cultural diversity and environmental sustainability. It is home to educators and social activists who lead programmes in grassroots leadership, in natural construction techniques, and in empowering marginalised communities.
Naterra is a non-profit association, started and run by a group of 5 young Portugueses based in Macau and East-Timor. NaTerra embraces projects in the field of education for sustainable development, a multidisciplinary organization that combines holistic education and Permaculture Design, creating and share alternative solutions, engaging directly with the local communities to work towards a sustainable development.
