Efforts to create sustainable human settlements and ecovillages have been recognized by the government of Ghana. Initiated by a dynamic group of sustainability leaders, Ghana Ecovillage network was formed in 2012 and Incorporated in January 14, 2013 and given the permit to commence operations on 22nd January 2013.
GEN Ghana has evolved over the years since 2013.
GEN Ghana is a strong national network with active membership of about 120,
There has been 2 Ecovillage Design Education Courses (EDEs) organized at the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture (KITA) and the Ghana Permaculture Institute (GPI) with about 70 participants trained.
GEN Ghana has also hosted 3 National conferences and also hosted the 5th African Ecovillage Conference in December 2016.
There is an Active NEXTGEN Youth promoting ecovillage strategies and influencing policies at their district and national levels.
GEN Ghana is open for cooperation with other national networks, ecovillage projects, volunteers and interns who will like to partner. There is an active group. Thanks to GEN International and GEN Denmark (LOES) for their support in building GEN Ghana

Tribodar is an association born in 2010 out of a dream to create an environment which facilitates learning, sharing and connection for people of all ages. Holistic and sustainable living is at the core of Tribodar. Since the beginning of the project we have recieved many people from all corners of the world to volunteer and participate in our permaculture and creativity gatherings, open learning events, healing retreats and our Tribojam Festival. In the past few years we have been dedicated to sustainability courses and wellbeing weeks.

The project is the kalamos Island biological field station and eco-community which is located in Kalamos Island in the inner Ionian archipelago of Western Greece. The island is in the core of the second largest marine protected area in the country and one of the largest in the mediterranean. The project was initiated by terra sylvestris a non-govermental not for profit organization based on kalamos island.

The Syrian Initiative Craftsmanship Ecovillage (SICE) is a newly formed NGO (April 1st 2015) driven by a group of Syrian refugees and Swedes in Uppsala, Sweden. Our aim is to empower migrants and other Syrians to take control of their own lives, integrate into Swedish society, and do so in an inexpensive and ecologically sustainable way. We also find different ways to job possibilities for our residents in our Ecovillage.
1. Inventory of the biodiversity of the green species
Each member of the association is invited to make a scientific research of biodiversity to establish an inventory or a census of the trees, plants and flowers with photos that exist or that can withstand the climate of the willaya of Sidi Bel Abbes.
Once this first steps is completed, we will have to do:
Classify species according to scientific criteria.
Collect information about each species (type of soil supported, watering rate, planting period, how planted ... etc.)
The Company Community is working on propagating only
plantspecies known to be listed as treatened,or nearly
extinct.It maybe hard to collect seeds or cuttings from
these plants and one may even need approval,from the
local forester.This village will be somewhere in the tropical
jungle or where the climate is safe from polution of any
kind,thus allso noise.There should be a clear running
natural waterway,creek,river,or stream.
Situated in Italy in the appennini closed to Bologna is one of the oldest and most famous comunity in italy.
It has 200 peoles living there and had at least 120 babies borned there since 1980.
Self sufficiency, restauration of old building, art, agriculture,alternative medicine and common living are the main activities.
The Florescer Ecovillage is located in an area of 260 hectares, formed by flat and mountainous areas, containing several springs and waterfalls, with flora and diverse wildlife. Located in Urubici, Santa Catarina, Brazil, the Ecovillage is supported by Florescer Association.
The Florescer Association, is formed by families that joined the project to share their lives with others, and has as a principle the sustainability of relationships and the environment in general. Therefore, since 2007, the Association has been engaged in performing practices:
