Crystal Waters Permaculture Village

A great support system for ecovillage tourists in Australia is the membership of WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms). This organisation offers a form of cultural exchange in which WWOOFers live and work as family with host farms, and learn about: the skills of organic growing and the area you are visiting. Many Australian ecovillages and communities host WWOOF members.

Crystal Waters was established in 1987. 80% of the 259ha property is owned in common and is used for sustainable agriculture, forestry, recreation and habitat projects.

Crystal Waters has become a community of 200 people with a multitude of businesses and food producing gardens.

This permaculture village is rich in wildlife (especially many species of birds).
