Finland, Suomineitho YhteisoeWe have rented an abandoned old-people's home for 30 years and want to develop it towards an "ecological monastery". We promote an ecological lifestyle and self-sufficiency. Visitors can go hiking, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms. There is an unique Wildlife Park in our area, where you can meet the natural inhabitants of the northern forests. |
Germany, LebensgartenLebensgarten is an ecovillage with more than 70 members. Lebensgarten is a well established seminar and healing centre. Guests can participate in daily meditaitons, chanting and circle dancing. You can hike in nearby hog and heathland, join us for summer swimming in nearby lakes and participate in courses. Iceland, SnaefellsasThe Snaefellsas Community is situated at Hellnar, which is just below the powerful Snaefellsjokull glacier on the west coast of Iceland. The area is very mystical with many legends and myths about the people who settled and have lived here, and the hidden beings that reside in the area. Guesthouse Brekkubaer is right next to the Snaefellsjokull National Park and there are great hiking trails, easily accessible bird colonies, bird-cliffs, boat tours for sightseeing, fishing and whale-watching, and tours to the top of the glacier - all within a short distance of the guesthouse. |

Iceland, SólheimarSólheimar is a village in southern Iceland, founded in July 1930. It is the first community of its kind in the world, where so called able and disabled people live and work together. Sólheimar is a village with 100 inhabitants, 40 of whom are disable. Brekkukot Guest house, the first guesthouse in Iceland that received official certification as "sustainable travel service".We welcome and enjoy visitors. Our guesthouse is open all year. |

The Federation now numbers over 500 full time citizens.Damanhur is in the valley of Valchiusella, just 45 minutes drive from Turin, Italy. |
Italy, Torri SuperioreThe ecovillage of Torri Superiore is located at the Italian riviera, near the French border. The large stone housing is being converted into an ecological and cultural centre with guest facilities, meeting ooms and terraces. This area provides rich opportunities for hiking and experiencing nature. Accommodation is provided in this middle age village setting. Italian food and family atmosphere are highlights for visitors to Torri Superiore. Since 1999 Torri Superiore has been the service node for GEN-Europe. |

Italy, UpacchiThe Ecovillage is situated near the little town of Anghiari in Tuscany, has been nearly completely restored, using ecological materials and techniques. There are regular and occasional common activities like women meetings, meditation, sweatlodge ceremonies, parties, barbecues and other. The place is also ideal to bring children, as there is no traffic and they can find many friends, as the village is full of children. Places of touristic interest: Casentino Natural Reserve for trekking, Michelangelo’s birthplace, Florence, Lake Trasimeno, Siena and Rome. |
Russia, GrishinoIn the northwest of Russia, in the historical village of Grishino, at the confluence of two rivers for a number of years we are living and building an ecological village and a center for spiritual and educational programs. We are followers of different spiritual traditions united by the aspiration to live in harmony with Mother Nature and with each other. Our landscape contains an abundance of rivers, lakes and forests with wild animals, burds, berries, mushrooms and herbs. |

Scotland, The Findhorn FoundationStarted in 1962 in a caravan park near the seaside village of Findhorn, the Findhorn Foundation Community is one of the best-known intentional communities in the world. Its main focus continues to be on education, community and the environment.There are now 29 new ecological buildings erected to date, including housing, an innovative Living Machine biological sewage treatment plant, and an electricity generating wind turbine. It is a place where everyday life is transformed by living, working and learning with spiritual values. |
Turkey, EcofocaFoca Ecological Village is situated 60 km north of Izmir, near the Aegean coast. Fifty hectares of land were bought for this purpose 4 years ago. Our eco-village is a new venture because all members (the present number is eleven) are currently still living in Istanbul. Pergamon, Ephesus and Troy are among the most popular archaeological sites in the vicinity of Foca. Foca enjoys a Mediterranean climate and pleasant scenery. |

Wales, Brithdir MawrBrithdir Mawr is a farm, that houses an intentional community of 20 people working towards sustainability, simplicity and spirit, and wishing to share their aim with others. One of the old farm buildings at Brithdir Mawr has been converted into a low cost hostel, ideal for groups of up to ten people. The hostel is heated by a wood-burning Rayburn, which also does the hot water. The electricity is all 12-volt from sun, wind and water. Bring sleeping bags, we provide pillows, pillowcases and blankets. |
